Anyone got any recommendations?
Anyone got one of those fancy schmanzy Tempur Pedic ones?
I replaced my bed in CA about 2 years ago, spend 2 grand and got what I thought was an OK bed. Then in AZ, decided to go cheap and picked something up at Sears in a lunch break, a Sealy I think; it is better than the one I got in CA. My biggest tip - the old wives tale about 'firm' being better is hogwash ... I got a soft bed this time and really love it

Just wait for your next trip to the UK and then stick it in your hand luggage.

This is where everybody's different, I think - a soft bed just gives me backache.

Was up in London last weekend for the visa medical and the single bed at the hotel was a 4'-wide Mattison - very, very, comfortable, but alas, they're a UK company and only do beds for the trade (hotels, guest houses, etc).

I've read on another message board that someone who had really good sleep on a hotel bed managed to find out the manufacturer, and was able to purchase one direct from them - may be another option.
