Default Mass driving laws...loons

Well I only caught the tale end of the story, but the police have a big incentive to issue tickets now out here, each ticket a cop writes gives them half an hour of banked over time pay...so anyone driving around here best be extra careful, because I doubt they'll be giving to many warnings nows...

So anything weird in your neck of the woods? How about quotas etc?

My wife's cousin's husband was a local cop. He had to have his own special day in court due to the number of tickets he wrote. He wasn't on a quota, just young, idealistic and zero tolerance. Someone who was in court accused him of playing favourites, to which the judge responded "Son, this officer wrote his own mother a ticket!'

a friend of mine, whom is a cop apparently informed us lamens that they play "snooker" whilst stopping cars.

stop a red car, then stop a colour (preferably a black car) then another red car........
whoever got the highest break won.

They get along good. She was speeding ( and in excess). The local judge eventually told him to ease up on the tickets and have some tollerance towards offenders
