Well............I'm still stuck with the sound problems, tried all of the trouble shooting stuff on windows, my sound drivers say they are working correctly, so I don't know??? It was suggested that I should install the driver again but I can't find a single disk just for sound, would it be on the windows disk?? If so would everything on the 'puter be wiped off?

Certainly not .. I still suspect this is something more basic..
click start
settings
control panel
then click on sound and audio devices
under the volume panel
ensure there is not a tick in the mute box
then click advanced under the speaker settings and click default ..
