"Made In America"

Re: "Made In America"
Unfortunately the average American looks at the price tag and then changes their mind. Or rather Walmart goes to the manufacturer and sets a price for the item and the only way to meet that price is to do it overseas. There was a good story about jars of pickles and lawn mowers I'll look it up later.

If you were truly patriotic in this way you would have done it by now, you whinging so and so. Just because you have little support, resources etc for this shouldn't be an excuse for failure, any more than residing in a shitty economy... Jeez, that's the same p!ss poor excuse Obama has been using... ()

It certainly seems a lot like the manufacturing industry to me.

I would not say Feudal, but there are obvious historical examples.
Not a situation that has a long term future, there has to be correction.
The only issue is how and when.
I would be hard pressed to think of an example where there was an easy transition.

Sounds like a load of old bollocks to me.
Anyway, OP will get a half hard to hear that I paid twice as much for my 'Made in California' Fender Strat; whilst taking a meal off the table of a poor Mexican luthier in the process ...

3. Human Rights - The countries the United States import from often have nonexistent standards regular working conditions. Many of the factories producing US bound goods are worse than our prisons, and filled with children working extremely long days. No one wants to support that, and by buying American you know you aren't we have regulations and agencies in this country to prevent those types of atrocities.
4. Democracy - Americans believe in and stand up for democracy whenever we can, and by choosing to buy American you are supporting the ideals of democracy.

Re: "Made In America"
I paid for my hand wired American Dr Z in preference to something mass produced in China.
But my TV is not made in America, and likely never will be. Can't afford to be too picky!!
