Unhappy To be lugubrious, or not to be lugurbrious?

Nicked that from word of the day, but...

Do you think brits are a bit gloomy at times?

lugubrious \lu-GOO-bree-us; -GYOO-\, adjective:
1. Mournful; indicating sorrow, often in a way that seems feigned, exaggerated, or ridiculous.
2. Gloomy; dismal.
