My I-130 is about to become current, I will apply for the I-485 (green card) in about
3 months, thing is that I lost my I-94 and I know you need an I-94# to submit the
I-485. Should I get a replacement I-94 right now, or should I just wait and apply for
one when I file the I-485? Thanks

If you can, the fastest way is to leave the country and come back with a new I94,
since filing to get a replacement will be at least 3 month or more.

You should get a replacement from INS. You should carry I-94 with your passport
whether or not you are applying for I-485.

If I were you, and I did not plan to travel outside the U.S. and obtain a new I-94
before filing the I-485, I would wait until filing Form I-485, and file the I-102
simultaneously.
The reason for this is that the I-102 will then be in the hands of the INS examiner.
If you file it beforehand, the I-102 application may be in storage somewhere, not
easily retrievable, and I think that the I-102 application has to be retrieved and
approved before the I-485 can be approved.

Well, since I'm not applying for the I-485 for another 3 months or so, I was thinking
I should get the I-94. This would save time, wouldnt it? If I apply for the I-485,
along with the I-102, it will take extra time. I also have to file the 245i, thats 3
applications at once. Why not just get the I-94 right now, since I'm not doing
anything. The reason why I thought it was a good idea was because I thought it took
about 8 weeks to get a new I-94, plenty of time before I apply for the I-485. But now
that you mention lost applications, ect.. I dont know.
