On the job front the economy is worse now than it was 5 months ago when you opened a similar thread.

I appreciate its very tight out there. However, one of the few industries doing well globally is the Security Industry. Crime is on the increase and people generally tend to protect what they have more aggressively.

Why FL, CA or NY? There are 47 other states out there. CA and NY are very expensive places to try and set up a home.

The state coffers in FL and CA are in the doldrums right now, particularly CA.

Why don't you save up some money, and come over for a vacation, and see if you can find a job in security. How about Las Vegas, Lake Tahoe, or even on a cruise ship? (casino guard). Try Carnival cruise line. It could tide you over until the economy improves.

For jobs like these, you usually need to be on the ground.

Yeah - but security is regarded as a Cost Center that isn't likely to make anyone any money. Chief Security Officers never really made the jump to being the Chief Integrity/Business Protection Officers they wanted to be in the last growth period, and I wonder if they ever will. Budgets are doooooowwwnnnn. Also, a sh1tload of people that joined the armed services after 9/11 are leaving and joining the private sector. It's not a great time to moving into the industry in the US, unfortunately...

...but on the upside, the growth the industry has seen over the last five years hasn't been switched off entirely, and after all, you only need one job!

Join/check ASIS, ACFE etc.
