I think you get a partial pension if you have 11 years work in UK.

And the weakness of the dollar has made it a lot bigger than when I started it, about 8 years ago.

The letter states I need to pay £128.70 for 2004-2005 tax year. I am 30 years old... so from what I am getting I will get billed like this yearly until I have paid in a total 30 years worth of contributions...correct?

I've been paying Class 3 or Class 2 NI since 1987. I just paid my 2007 Class 2 contributions, 109.20 pounds. Its fantastic value for money.

Don't you have to have worked a certain number of years though - ie you can't get the pension just on paying contributions? Or maybe I'm thinking of the HRP you get for bringing up children.
