Paying to go to a beach is outrageous.
the USA should be more like Sweden, who have absolutely no lifeguards anywhere whatsoever and its deemed that if you decide to go swimming you have to be responsible for watchingout for yourself and your kids.
USA isn't big on personal responsibility, makes for a very immature nation I feel.
However when I trained to be a lifeguard in 2002 for a summer job I was told by my instructor that when I reached the drowning person I had to ask them, "Can I save you?" as there had been too many lifeguards who'd been sued after people complained of whiplash and being hurt while being dragged to shore.
Reminds me of the lawsuit a drunk driver (who killed someone) filed against the bartender who served him a drink in the first place. ******* insane.
