Re: Kindergarten Registration Experience.

Just a bit of a update on this, a week in.

Had to get a doctors note to say the kid has a broken arm to get out of PE as she isn't allowed to do it and will need a note after the cast comes off to say she's good to attend school.

We've had a letter listing about 35 different volunteer/donation efforts that are planned, from volunteering to help in the art/library/music room, helping out with halloween event, teacher appreciation lunch, a few other sales but also smaller stuff like someone to change the sign once a month at the front of the school to sorting and organising the box tops such as cutting them down, counting and sending them in a couple times of year and there's one for bottle tops and the other types of box top coupons, Tysons etc.

Either asked to help out at a few of the events or donate $25, so not to bad compared to some of you lot.

Also had first PTA type meeting, which was a little busy and out of this world...half hour discussion on whether they should give the music teacher $500 to buy all the third graders a recorder or have the parents buy them etc.

The school bus is still a bit of a joke, 25/20/15 mins late, then 20 mins early...but it seems to be settling down on time, though it would be quicker to walk to school and back than use the bus for the drop off after school me thinks, but the little one likes chatting with a couple kids in a neighbouring class.

And how is your little one settling in / enjoying it? Aside from the broken arm of course.

She's loving it, which is great :)

It's weird that it's a half year of music and the last half gets the art and she really wants to do art.

Making lots of friends, hangs out with a kid up the street from us who gets the bus to school and another kid down the street for the return ride, who are both in neighbouring classes and then she knows a couple kids in her class from library and other groups :)
