Bush isn't very popular now. And besides, it was a very close presidential race, that didn't mean Bush was widely popular.

As far as Seinfeld, I never watched him, couldn't see the attraction.

Seinfeld is funnier (is that a word?) if you know New York or know any New Yorkers. It nails the same sort of urban neuroses that Woody Allen was working on in the 70s.

It also contained characters who were uniformly dishonest, shallow, despicable and childish which always makes for better television than the "honest people just trying to get through life" crap that is so common. It devoted entire episodes to ridiculous topics like marine biology and bereavement fares on airlines. It really was about "nothing" (the subject of a series of episodes) and every show had basically no plot.

It was rife with absurd catch phrases and absurd situations. It poked fun at everyday situations by codifying how people tend to overreact to the smallest inconveinience.

Watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, it's by the same creator and writers and might be more appealing to non-devotees.

Also, the Americanized version of The Office is pretty damned funny now and has been for a while. It was awful at the start when they were ripping off the (absolutely perfect) original, but it has hit its stride now.

The "popular vote" doesn't elect the president. Read as: Electoral College.

Slow down, you're getting ahead of yourself. Bush, by winning a certain percentage of the vote can claim the "Popular vote". Something Clinton never did in his two terms. I'm not a fan of either(Bush, Seinfeld), just telling you how it is.

I didn't say it did. But Seinfeld is one of the highest rated comedy shows your country has ever produced. Therefore, it is popular.

50.73% of the vote went to Bush/Cheney = Majority = Widely Popular.
83% of the geographic area, by county, of the USA (excepting Alaska which reports differently) voted for Bush.
Plus the Republicans increased their numbers in both houses.

Tony B Liar, at 35.3%, has a lower percentage of the voting public accounting for his "majority" than does Bush. Unfortunately thanks to the Jocks he has a large majority.

So, if you were in a room with 10 people and only five of them could stand you.... You'd feel widely popular?

Seems like people forget that even though Bush had just over 50% of the popular vote, Bill Clinton won his first election with only 40 some percent...the first US president elected with less than a majority (I believe)...certainly the 1st in modern times.

Bush wasn't widely popular. Look at his first election and while he did marginally better in the second, he still didn't win by an unanimous popular vote.

Errr, that would be 5.73 of them!!! Or 5.0001 if you want to split hairs even further!!! Or to be correct it would have to be 6 of them, as people don't come in anything less than 1!

And Tony B Liar has had "majoritys" of 27% and 33%. Which is by leslies reckoning 2 and 3 people in the room. Yet He seems to think he's popular.

Not exactly a sweeping unanimous popular vote either yet he is still the UK PM.

Change the geographical voting area's to have more seats in your strong voting area's.

Steal the postal votes.

These were two things done in the last UK election.
