Cricket or baseball? Don't know much about baseball but cricket was fun to play when I was a kid (I have 2 brothers) but we also had a county cricket pitch on our doorstep and although hugely popular with the adults I found it intensely dull.
As for jam versus jelly I think both are horrible and what is it with Americans eating jam with their eggs? Ugh!
I and my husband were also very confused by the french toast in the US. I regularly make eggy bread for our family for breakfast but it is a savoury thing often eaten with bacon and sausages. So who thought of putting cinnamon and sugar on it?
The most amazing thing I found on my first trip to the US (got back on Thursday morning-still jetlagged now) apart from the ENORMOUS portions that they dish up was the sheer amount of sugar that they seem to add to everything. It certainly explains why so many Americans are overwieght, I have to admit that before this trip I really couldn't understand it now I understand it completely - too much food, containing too much fat and way way too much sugar. I thought that I would be enjoying the food way too much when I got there but after being there for 3 days I had to eat salad as I just felt completely stuffed and unhealthy! After that I simply cut down to eating only twice a day and still couldn't eat everything I was served - I don't think I have ever thrown away so much food before in my life.

Jam or Jelly - don't eat either though I do love Jello.

whole point of cricket is to spend days in sun relaxing with your mates over a tinnie...
looking up for the score occasionally
