Default June 17th London Interview

Hi, i was just wondering if anyone else was going to the U.S Embassy in London on June 17th for their medical and interview. It would be good to know someone else who was going to be there, might make the day a bit easier.
Thanks
Dave

Dave, If mine was anything to go by, you'll be done by lunchtime! I do recommend the
Angus steak house up the road on oxford st (I think) for a celebratory dinner!!!!

Good luck!

I'm still waiting on my interview date, any idea how long it takes from sending off
checklist, to attending interview? I am still waiting on my police certificate, but
it should be here within 2 weeks now.

Hoping my interview date will be the end of the month Cheap Flights to Houston
start and end throughout July. I want to get on one of them.

Good luck on the 17th!

ps. have you got your I-134 forms filled out yet?

I sent my forms to the embassy middle of April and recieved my letter with the interview date in the middle of May and my actual interview date is 17th of June. When i spoke to the embassy they said they didnt look at my forms till May 8th as they had a backlog of forms, so yours might be quicker. Getting my I-134 was a total nightmare, my fiancee sent them to me but they managed to lose my original documents in the mail twice!! but anyway, hopefully my interview will be fine and if so ill be leaving the week after.

Best of luck to you at the interview!

I will go ahead and send the checklist to the embassy this week, and hope for an
appointment soon. I am just scared that i send in the checklist, and they give me an
appointment before I am able to accuire the police certificate and I-134 from my
fiancee's parents. But on the other hand, I dont want to waste valuble time waiting
on all of the documents. Its a toughy. Anyone got the answer?

My Fiancee just left for the states yesterday, so it has been tough. She did have
a whole 5 1/2 month visit in the UK though, so I was thankful for that at least. And
actually, half way thru her visit we found out she was expecting my child, so this is
my reason behind me wanting to get over there as soon as possible. Get married before
the birth, and get myself a job.

But.. I wait... more.

Good luck again.

Hi there!

Nice to get a reply of some sort!

Well, I am just about to post in my checklist tomorrow. I called up the Embassy
tonight and they told me they had recieved my other forms (DS-230..etc) and were
awaiting my checklist. I was then told I could be seen for an interview as soon as
the end of June, but I will send in a cover letter with my checklist to request to be
interviewed by July 5th+ and not before, as by then, I will be sure to have my police
certificate and I-134. It was also worth calling up the data protection place in
Crewe as they told me the MAX amount of time it will take for me to get my
certificate will be 28 days. Thats about the begining of July.

Anyways. Did you know you can download the visa forms via the embassy website? saves
you waiting on the package to come. I take it you are waiting on the package with the
DS-230 within it?

I'll hopefully, if all goes to plan, be going to Houston to transit to Louisiana. My
lady and her parents live there, and will put me up. After I get my temp work visa,
I'll be looking for work in the big cities in Texas. Dallas, Houston and Austin..
etc. I work in the Computer Gaming Industry here in Manchester, England. So Texas is
the best place to look for a job in this Industry.

I hope (I say it again) to be flying out for July 16th. Thats my target date. I wanna
get married soon! You dont hear many guys say that, do ya?

All the best with your application. Maybe see you at the Embassy if you get those
forms back to them fast enough

Toodles.

John

Hi John. A couple of coincidences. I'm sending in my OF-169 check list today, I've
put on the form "hope to travel 17th July" Although I'm going to Virginia. Different
field, but I worked in casinos for 10 years back in the 70's/early 80's and have been
doing mobile corporate casino evenings for 20 years. Anyway, Goood luck to you, and
anyone else reading this thread, going though the same process. Roger

Take care!

Be prepared for the heat. My wife and I arrived in NC from London last month and it
is bloody hot! I'm the USC and I've lived in the south before but after so long away
forgot how hot it can be.

Good luck on your job search
