Many American Legion Posts conduct Disposal of Unserviceable Flag Ceremonies on June 14, Flag Day. This ceremony creates a particularly dignified and solemn occasion for the retirement of unserviceable flags.
Yeah I know. I've been to several flag retirement ceremonies. The field is usually cut from the stripes and burnt first, followed by the stripes. The fire used is separate and not used for anything else.

There you go Ray, you've learnt something for the day.

What I've learnt from this is that some Americans are even more crazy about flag etiquette than I thought.

Finished up a resume and is applying a couple of places.... I realised I might know someone in the industry and am trying to follow that up.

He is now "the next one to get a job" cos Bob got one!

Reminds me of our HOA here. Can you believe we have 3 HOA's serving the same community? Phase 1, 2 and 3 all have different HOA's and none of them talk to each other. I once joked that the HOA's should start an association of HOA's here. They did'nt see the joke or the irony.

We're lucky, we don't have a HOA here, although the township does have a "Community Development" Officer. My neighbour got reported to them for having empty flowerpots stored outside the front of his house, FFS. The guy turned up and wrote a report and told my neighbour to move them. Petty, petty, petty.
