I've never sold a house before... what do I need to ask an estate agent?

I loathe candles usually, except in power cuts (rare), but have been stocking up recently because they're cheap and cheerful. I was going to say "cheap as chips" but held back. Oh wait, no I didn't...
Really? I can see cinnamon, but thought vanilla would be a bit "girly" for most men. But will definitely bear that in mind, thank you.

Damn... I was near my closest Body Shop yesterday! It's 25 miles away from my house. Now I want to go and spend a small fortune there.

Also when I've seen photos of 'staged' properties for sale, they often get the best china out and bunch of flowers on the table and set it as if about to have a dinner party.
Someone at my gym is moving from NJ to North Carolina (they're having a house built there) and her house is going on the market this weekend. They're going to Minnesota for a fortnight and leaving the realtor to handle the sale.
The realtor is holding an 'open day' on Sunday and decorating the deck and having food for the prospective purchasers/nosey parkers coming for a 'sticky beak' LOL! There will also be a 'locked box' on the house so that other realtors can turn up with their clients at other times.
How different from selling homes in the UK! Over here it seems that realtors don't like the vendors and purchasers to meet until the sale is pretty much cut and dried.
