There's still some in our neighbourhood too. I can understand if they haven't taken them down yet, I mean, it's bloody freezing out there.....but still lighting them up is a bit much!

A guy at work last month was telling the story of how he had to cut the lights out of his pine tree because the wires had become imbedded in the tree bar after only 4 years.

I always thought it was bad luck to have Christmas decorations up before or after the 12 days of Christmas? Of course that was probably just my parents not wanting to mess up the house for an extended period of time, as I remember childhood friends having their trees and decs up for far longer than us.

We always had to get our decorations down by 12th night bad luck to keep them up any longer.
