Re: IRS direct deposit

I don't trust the IRS with a direct deposit...I'll wait for a dodgy cheque.

Have to say, the old employers were quickish to send me my W2...and so were Mass unemployment...kind of depressing how much state/federal of the unemployed I got taxed...which is a bit of a joke in the first place...hmmm...

I just checked the banks automated line and the tax return will be paid in on Friday. have your son call and check his bank also.
So I checked the IRS website and low and behold the information has changed. says the tax return will be paid in on the 30th.

His website info has been updated for the 30th too.

Just wanted to pass on the way he spoke to a person in accounting at the irs (not that they were much help) was to follow the steps to ask a human for help filling out tax forms and have them put you through. Nobody would give him a direct number for accounting.

Employers aren't required to give you your W-2 until the end of January, and many leave it that late. Our corporation uses a huge 3rd party payroll company, and they always provide our W-2s with the last payroll in January, as a matter of policy.

My employer also uses a large payroll company - I find it hard to understand why it takes so long, everything is entirely digital, you'd think they could just push a very large red button on the 2nd Jan and hey presto the printers start printing.
