IRS direct deposit
My son efiled his taxes, using the direct deposit option. Up until this morning the website said he would receive his money by Feb 3rd. Then today it says he had it deposited on 23 Jan., except it wasn't. Website said he could call on 28th if it had not gone in. So lots of time on hold and accounting says no date has been set for his deposit, we should check the website for updates!! He explained that is what he did and asked why he should believe it tomorrow when todays info was incorrect. Accounting also seems to have no direct number, he called 1-800-829-1040 indicated he needed help filling out his taxes, waited 20 minutes to speak to them and they put him through to accounting, he waited another 25 minutes to ge them on the line. They claim they can be reached at the 1040 number but there is no direct option, just a recording of the incorrect deposit info.
Curious to know if anyone else got the Jan 23rd date and actually received their deposit. Personally I thought the earliest it would go in was this Friday based on the timing of past years refunds. |
Re: IRS direct deposit
The Yahoo answer thingy has other people getting the same misinformation.

Re: IRS direct deposit
I know they can wait until the 31st but considering only 3 people work here it wouldn't really be too hard to get them done before the last day so I could avoid the busy days. I'm not desperate for the money (or bill ) but I really hate not knowing everything about my finances so I can make adjustments to my plans accordingly.

Re: IRS direct deposit
I don't get paystubs, just checks. I got print outs from a word .doc a couple of times when I first started and when I was applying for a mortgage but it was a case of asking for them and took him days. I'm surprised he even remembers to pay me tbh.

Bummer then. I'm out of ideas. :) Oh, except this: remind him today that the 31st is coming up. One of DHs clients always 'forgets' too. |

Had exactly the same thing happen to us this morning, we filed electronically on the 21st with direct deposit to be made by Feb 3rd, then we checked the status this morning and had exactly the same message as your son had, hubby called the 1-800 number also to reach the same message. We called the bank and there is no pending deposit from them as yet, i'm hoping it will be paid in by Friday (I think i'm right in saying that they only make payments on Fridays) |
Re: IRS direct deposit
The Good Old IRS only pays out on Fridays.
There is a calender on the web that shows all the dates the IRS will pay out, I filed mine on the 21 of Jan. according to the calendar it will be paid out on the 30th of Jan. |
All times are GMT. The time now is 8:12 am. |
