International Driving Permits - Florida
Hi all, are international driving permits from UK driving license holders required? I keep reading that its been abolished (2013) but the AA and Post Office websites seem to cite them as being -possibly/maybe- required. I love the conflicted information I've read!!!
Hiring from Alamo in Florida, if that is of any relevance.
Thanks in advance, Dan

What JG said.
An international driving license is only a translation, so a licence printed in English is just fine in the US.

The IDP isn't just a translation of a license. Per the Vienna Convention on Road Traffic, the IDP serves to authenticate the license (which is why IDPs must be obtained in the country where the license was issued.)
However, the Florida law was repealed, so it isn't required there. (In the US, most driver licenses are issued by states, while the treaty that governs the IDP is a federal matter.) The rental car company may want to see it (although I doubt it).

Presumably Spanish would also work in Florida.

Nobody needs an IDP in Florida. The language isn't relevant.
