We were there about 4 or 5 years ago and stayed on Sand Key. I can't remember the name of the hotel but it was across the road from the Hilton. The hotel was on the inland waterway side and just a short walk to the beach. It was a nice hotel with 1 bedroom apartment style rooms.

Personally, I think the Fort Myers area (Sanibel and Captiva) is much nicer

We stayed in the Marriott hotel, 7- 8 years ago.

Was not impressed. Whole area full off UK football shirts. Never been back & no intention.

Oy, not so fast matey. Ft de Soto is right next door to the hotel...nice place to picnic/ride bikes/camp etc....

The rest of St Pete is a dump. Sorry, have never liked it, will never like it.....it's a dump.

"And don't leave the hotel" - at least not with out your Union Jack shorts, bright red sun burned beer belly and teatowel on your head, singing the Fat Les Vindaloo worldcup song.
Hmm, that reminds me actually, there is great great point about St Pete - the best curry house in the Tampabay area is in downtown St Pete - the only one remotely close to a "proper" UK Indian!!
