Does look dross...

Re: Inbetweeners USA
Depends what the female contingent is like - didn't one of the UK ones end up as hot totty in FHM or some other magazine?

Re: Inbetweeners USA
Will's too handsome, and Jay looks like he has down's.
Considering Skins US was dookie butter, this will probably be so, too. |

Re: Inbetweeners USA
I'll stick with the originals thanks. Why do they insist on remaking crappy versions of shows that are pretty much perfect as-is? Bleh. :frown:

Re: Inbetweeners USA
I got yelled at by my wife for saying this back when I first heard it was planned (when we were in the middle of watching it on BBCA for the first time) but I'll say it again - it just won't work. It's too British, relates too much to a British school experience. Schools here are too shit to be funny.

There was a half decent looking one people were talking about on here recently. Should probably just go ahead and get it, really.

I still listen to records, myself. 'Old' technology worries me not. |

Re: Inbetweeners USA
If it's on HBO, it might be good. If it is on any of the free or basic cable channels then it will be crap.

Re: Inbetweeners USA
I thought the BBC original was great. I was their age 40+ years ago but it still held true for those times. I'm laughing now just thinking of some of the scenes. My wife who is American didnt see the funny side of it at all. Did it relate more to us neanderthal men.

Re: Inbetweeners USA
My (USC) wife loves a lot of British comedy (Men Behaving Badly etc). The only issue might be with certain accents, but she's put up with my shows so long now that I think she can handle most anything.
Considering auf wiedersehen atm, but that might be a bit much. We shall see :D |

What will be worse? The US version or the film?

Here's the trailer, just don't watch it at work, or when the kiddies are around... |

I'm guessing the film, as from what i've heard, it's actually pretty funny.

Somehow, when they turn a good TV show into a movie it either comes across as forced and like they are trying too hard, or it's something that would have been a great 30 minute episode but is stretched out to an hour and a half. (Lookin at you Mr Bean). |

The best way to approach it would be the way they did with Family Guy - essentially stitch three would-be standalone (but thematically linked) episodes together to make one 90 minute film.
