I wish I could have done Spanish at school, I had to do German & French & I'll never use them. I'd take Spanish over them anyday! If only I had the time & energy, at the moment all I speak is English, slang & baby-talk, I have a 14 month old son!!!

It does drive one batty to speak in toddlerese all day. You can use German and French, especially the French as there are some similarities to Spanish -- though it's much easier to see in writing rather than to hear in speech. Belt out some Wagner sometime? Seriously.... sounds like you need some ME time with some close friends. Any chance of getting a break and going to a pub or restaurant with UK or continental food/drink?

I think I suffer from the British thing (excuse) of being "terrible" at languages. Not having a proper teacher for two years of French didn't help either.
