Default illegal immigrant in illegal marriage

Hope someone can be of assistance to me. My husband (I am going to change this) has married another woman, and she is also an illegal alien. I have tried to contact the INS several times and she is still here. Can anyone tell me who I might have to contact besides the useless INS, can anyone direct me in a direction to possibly get started on my own to rid this girl.
I am NOT wanting my husband back, I only want to rid this horrible female from this country, and to stop the harrassment in which she is doing to me. Although the local police will not do a thing as I have not yet been physically beaten or killed. So typical.
Can anyone be of assistance?????
Thank you,
Stacy

You've got several issues here and you need to get them separated in
your own mind.

First and foremost, if you are still married to your husband and he has
now actually married (as opposed to living common law with), then he has
commited bigamy, which is an offense. Contact the police or DA's office
on this one.

Second, I presume you mean that only she is an illegal alien (i.e.
neither he nor you are). If you've reported her to the INS, that's all
you can do on that basis.

Third, you say she is harrassing you. The legal requirement for
harrassment needs proof that she's actually doing so for the police or
some organisation to take action. For example, if she's simply repeated
telephoning you, then contact the phone company. They have means to
deal with this. If it's physical harrassment, you need proof that she
is repeatedly "in your face", impeding your ability to go about your
routine. Simply your saying so will not hold up in a court. If she's
actually threatening you with harm, then contact the phone company and
get a recorder to record the conversations. If she's doing it face to
face then again, you need witnesses.

Physical beating is about what it otherwise takes to provide some proof.

This game is all about proof. The police won't do anything unless you
can provide or can readily get proof. Note too, that if you do anything
to provoke harrassment, you could face a harrassment suit yourself!

Remember that the law does NOT provide you with the right to vindictive
or retaliatory behaviour, and in situations like this, it's easy for the
police or INS to say "She's just trying to get back at him".

Unless she is physically or telephonically harrassing you, then it's
called "what business is it of yours whether she's inside or outside the
country?". If it's telephonically and teh telco change your phone # and
it's problem solved on that score, then that's the end of the problem
for you as far as the authorities will be concerned.

I know that doesn't satisfy the outrage you feel, but it's how things
work legally.

Stuart
