Well people I just wanted to say thanks for the help, encouragement and support I have received since I joined the site and hopefully offer some to others.
When I originally posted at 3 months in, I felt a bit down and that I was never gonna develop a meaningful life here. Well at six months to the day since enterng the US I started my job. The pay and conditions are better than I expected for a first job and they even have comparitively decent holiday entitlement. The culture shock is not from england but from the six months of not working to early starts and late finishes.
I am actually enjoying rejoining the rat race and although this may be one of the toughest jobs I have ever had I am looking forward to the challenge.
So thanks again, and to anyone doubting their chances at getting a job well if they will give me one...
