Hi. Good luck with your move! We landed in the US about 4 weeks ago and we have made one big mistake so far. I really wish we had transfered more money from the UK to the US while we were still there. You can open an international bank account with wells fargo before you move to the US. We did and thought we had been really clever transfering a few thousand pounds into it. We have now discovered that our UK bank (Santander) is essentially bollocks at transfering money and have been waiting 10 days so far. A bit pants when you are trying to rent a house and buy a car as the money is in limbo somewhere. I know this is a bit of an aside but if it saves you the problems we are having, it's worth it!
