Hello Experts,
i was wondering if any body here as idea about the I-140 processing time in California, ( bay area). I know there are some sites, which give processing info, but some are not updated and its not very much clear to me how to get the info.
The catergory is EB2/RIR
So if i file I-140 lets say today, by what time should i expect it to get approved ..

thanks for your help
Tom.

Hello,

I wanted to know, for how long can a non-american worker stay in USA after his
employer has cancelled/withdrawn the sponsership petition, like H1B?

There is no fixed time ... You are out of status the day you stop working for the
employer in the capacity outlined in the H1B petition. You are then required to leave
the USA as soon as feasible or change to other status.

The commonly accepted time frame, and that accepted with little question by the INS
has been 10 days. That said, the INS has apparently been forgiving longer stays where
that longer stay has resulted in a new or transferred
H1B ... The max time to transfer the H1B is, I understand, 60 days.

If you're returning home, you should leave as soon as possible.
