Default Hotels near Waterloo

Anyone get any recommendations for hotels close to Waterloo Station in London? Cheap and cheerful (or as close as it gets in London...) just need somewhere to rest the head on Monday night as going out on Eurostar early on Tuesday morning.
Cheers

What time does your Eurostar depart?

If you have time, there might be some digs south of the river that are affordable but it depends on the time of your departure.

The Premier Travel Inn in the old County Hall is supposed to be OK and just across the road. There is a Marriott there too but that is much more expensive.

You could also try The Wellington in Waterloo Road (opposite the station exit). It's a pub with some guest rooms above it. I gather the rooms are perfectly fine but it's above a pub so I don't know what the noise is like.

Contact:

81-83 Waterloo Road,
London SE1 8UD
Telephone 020 7928 6083

Theres a Novotel about 10 mins walk from the station. Just opposite Lambeth Palace. Dont know about price but its nice enough. Stayed there a couple of years ago. Kid friendly.

Haven't stayed here at the 'Days Inn' but it accommodates families as it has family rooms :

(also try a main search for other hotels at: http://www.theaa.com )

Also check out:

http://www.discountcityhotels.co.uk (you can narrow the search for hotels close to Waterloo).

Hope this helps!

Thanks all

OK - I'm booked into Madam Fifi's. Now just looking for somewhere for the missus and kids......
Days Inn full
Novotel ditto
Looking like a Travelodge about 4 miles away - bit of a long walk for them, but figure if she takes the double buggy and front carrier she should manage it in 1.5 hours or so.... And its pretty cheap at 50 quid for the night and 5 quid per day parking for the 4 days we're away....although if the car park looks dodgy, we may be back to the Waterloo car park at 17 quid per day!!!

You might just want to check what is lurking behind the drawers of the room you'll be checking into:

(Not in front of the children though...LOL!)
