There is plenty of shopping on or just off the island and Naples is a wonderful place to dine, swim, shop and relax.
Also now is a lovely time for the beaches of South Carolina or the beaches of Mississippi. In MS you can go to a casino for a little gambling and a show or hop over to New Orleans for a night in the French Quarter.
Or like us, you could venture to Block Island, Rhode Island. It is a 90 minute ferry ride from Port Judith and off season (before Memorial Day) is a perfect time to visit. If you want excitement you can take a day trip back to the mainland to the Foxwoods Casino or to Mystic.

Folks, come on!
Disneyworld! -- A truly magical honeymoon. Enough said.
Attached in a pic of the wife and I on our 2002 Honeymoon at Disneyworld. We stayed 7 nights at Disney's Wilderness Lodge and had a very magical honeymoon together.

To help narrow down your search check out tripadvisor.com
Search for honeymoon and you'll get this page:
http://www.tripadvisor.com/Search?re...neymoon&ssrc=r
I'd stay away from the casino ideas.
On a budget, parts of Florida are very reasonable, it's warm and plenty of things to do within driving distance.
California can be very expensive but you'll have great pictures and experiences especially around Yosemite or pick another park on the west coast.
East coast isn't exactly a place to honeymoon on a budget but you can find some deals.
Find the hotel you want and call and ask them to lower the price for you to stay there. Be sure and mention you will be on your honeymoon.

For what it's worth, casino have great buffets as well as good shows for a small cost.
Many great places on the east coast for low cost honeymooning. You only need a web search to find them.

But I will say that of all the casino-style destination I've been to, Atlantic City is at the bottom of the list. Compared to Vegas or Foxwoods in Connecticut, it is pretty run-down and shabby looking. If you want more entertainment than just gambling and drinking, then Vegas or CT is your best bet. And much safer!

I too always like to have a vacation up my sleeve. I think a quick weekend in FL is needed - I need a little sun.
Naples sounds like a great suggestion - Would you fly to Fort Myers?

For beaches in Naples, I would recommend Clam Beach. Just follow the main street when you get off the highway until you can go no further. The first time we were there, it was to use the beach with Senior President Bush and his wife. The boardwalk to the beach is made from recycled plastic and winds its way through a mango forest and over the inlet where you will see pelicans and egrets. It is about a 1/2 mile walk or you can take the free shuttle if you don't like walking. There is a lovely little cafe there where you can have a nice lunch inside or out. As the name denotes, the sand is littered with shells and I collected bags of them and after soaking them clean use them in a crystal vase for anchorage for my floral centerpieces. There is no charge for the beach and a $3.00 charge to park your car for the day. There is also Vanderbilt Beach a little north of there.
I don't recall the name of the restaurant my daughter took me for dinner to one evening. It is part of a hotel on the beach and you can eat al fresco or inside but the sunsets are magnificent and the seafood was excellent and reasonably priced. For the two of us dinner with coffee and wine was $65.00.
From Naples you can also drive alligator alley to Miami's South Beach for a day in the sun and lunch al fresco in one of the hundreds of cafes/restaurants there.

My wife and I went to wine country in California (this is well before "Sideways"!) and then spent three days at an inn in the north coat located on a cliff overlooking the ocean. It was somewhat expensive but very enjoyable.
