#9 is a total bummer for her and the family. US immigration can be a total pig.

It's not so much that they are bad cops, I think I was just spoiled by our police force. For me, British cops are the best.

Still love it here though!!

PS - Now the temperatures are starting to drop, Phoenix is coming in to its own. For all the rest who are watching the skies for that first snowfall - good luck

Sounds like someone had a bad experience with the immigration guys, as a newbie I'm lagging behind the stories.

All I can say is that when I came in (I think it was Philly) the Immigration guys there were good natured and the whole process was very fast.

One of them took a look at my permanent resident visa and asked "how did you manage to get one of these?", still in wise ass British mode I replied "I paid an American hooker to marry me", and 5 immigration officers all burst out laughing at the same time (thankfully).

Obviously the wife wasn't present to hear that remark otherwise I would now be singing falsetto for the Vienna Boys Choir.
