Hey guys I'm new here

Hey guys my name's Chris and I'm new to this forum. I've been reading some topics here and seemed like there wasn't a lot of people from Pennsylvania on here so anyone that wants to know something about Pennsylvania or some general things on the U.S., ask me :)

Welcome to BE Chris.

We have several members from PA...if you take a look in the US Meet Up forum you'll see some threads from members in PA.

Hi Chris, from a fellow American.

Tip one: spell "your" as "your"!

Tip two: most of the people here are from other places originally.

What brings you to BE?

Haha sorry, internet speak :D it's a habit.

Oh I thought I'd come here to get to know others, learning about what others have to say about different countries. I'm thinking of emigrating myself, of course not anytime soon, and I could learn from different experiences of others so I wouldn't be in for a huge shock

I'm from South Central Pennsylvania, specifically York. but I was raised in northeastern Pennsylvania, an hour south of Scranton. But originally originally, I'm from Carolina, Puerto Rico which is a Spanish-speaking tropical island that's owned by the U.S. We have a relationship with the U.S. similar to what a Crown Dependency like the Isle of Man has to the UK, except we still get issued full U.S. passports like an American born in a state. In case anyone was curious, sí puedo hablar español fluentemente :) (I can speak Spanish fluently)

That one thread that the poster above give me a link to, it's just funny how there are a lot more Brits living near me than I thought. I've only ever met one family from Halifax and another from the London area here.

Here's a tip: find a pub where the Euro or World Cup matches are shown. They crawl out of the woodwork!

Oh that's awesome. Where were you originally from in the UK? And what motivated you to move to Australia and where, if you don't mind my asking. What's it like there? Me and my gf wanna emigrate there down the road, nothing in the immediate future though

You could even try spelling "you're" as "you're", and ignore the Yank trying to tell you to speak like an illiterate!

Welcome to BE.
