Henman Hill anyone?
Well Wimbledon quarter finals are here and our Tim made it through. Anyone starting to believe in a Brit champ for once?
I wont hold my breath but it would be just my luck that the one year i dont watch most of the damn tournament a Brit will win it!
Mind you it would still be good to see

This is not unusual. He has made at least the quarters something like 10 times. Its normally now or the semi's where he faces someone like Hewitt or Sampras who always end the dream for another year. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see him win, I just cannot see it happening.

To be blunt, he's just not good enough to win it. I doubt he ever will. It's a shame that we have to rely on him every year, been that way for donkeys years.

He's second in order of play on Centre today but then there's an American dude playing at the same time on Court One, so I'm hoping I can still watch them Henam game here.
I do think Henman has a chance and on paper, he's got a good chance of getting through today. There just seems to be something with the Brit players that doesn't let them win. There's no other Brit player snapping at his heels either, so he's really our only chance for a win. I'm even tempted to have a flutter.

You would probably be better putting your money on Red Rum to win the national next year!

Oh, the second set isn't looking too hopeful
Every year I hope he does well, it would be nice to see some British success in tennis. I find the hysterical fans a bit hard to stomach though. Just been reading the BBC website's article and feedback on Henmania:

At the end of the day it's only tennis and as the last correspondent writes:
its not as important as football is it?

NBC over here has just switched on the live coverage of his match.
And he's losing.
Well it is the quarter finals and that's where everything usually fecks up.

Henman got all uppity when a ball was 'in' but was called foul. Quite what John Terry was doing on the court though is anyone's guess.

Henman 6-7 (5/7) 4-6 1-2 Ancic
Centre Court is almost silent as Henman is broken once again. He fights back to 30-40 after being 0-40 down, but Ancic produces a great return to take the game.
did you know Fred Perry was a Stockport lad
