Default help me with my visa!

Hello.

I am a little stuck on where to start, hopefully someone can help!

Basically i have been going accross to new york every summer since 2001 working at a summer camp as a lifeguard on a j-1 visa.
The orginisation that runs the camp have taken a real favour to me and asked me to move over and work for them on a more perminate level. they run a large community centre and want (over time) for me to help make some improvements.
Both them and me are a little unsure on where to even start, i have called the u.s embassy in london and they told me that the orginisation would have to compleate a i 797 form, what is this and how do we get a copy??

and what kind of visa would let me stay over there for a few years based on working for them??
please please help me out with a little info

thank you
jake

The form you are looking for is most likely available online in pdf format. It does however look like the onus is going to be on the summer camp company to do the form filling etc..

You could also look for more info on the INS BCIS (or whatever theyre currently calling themselves) website. Hope this helps a bit.
