Default Help with forms?

I am on the verge of filing my papers for permanent residency - I am married to a US citizen.

Firstly, what happens to my status after marriage - I entered the UK as a tourist...does my status remain as a tourist until I file the papers?

I need a little help with the work permit form I-765. I have to go down and file this in person in Indianapolis - do I need to file this separately or with form I-485...and what kind of evidence are they going to require when I file these papers (i.e. birth certificates, marriage certificates, etc.).

Lastly, do I need to file all of the papers by post before I apply for the work permit?

Thanks for all help...

Generally, you file everything together at the same time. See the "tourist
adjustment" link on the doc steen site for more info. The last I heard, you have to
mail everything in to this office, and you should not expect quick action. Find more
info about your office here:

I am not a lawyer and this is not immigration advice. This is my personal opinion,
gleaned from the previous postings of others, and posted for the purpose of
discussion only. If your case is complicated, then you may need an immigration
attorney. Locate an immigration attorney in your area at: http://www.aila.org

It is helpful if you file all the forms together with the I-765. You will get your
EAD approved first.

You may find the following links helpful:
