yes i go twice a year summer and xmas,spoke to an immigration lawyer in London yesterday and we need $500.000 just in our pockets without money for a business etc. we are doomed

Haven't you had this dicussion already?
Basically if you want to start a business you will need a lot of money - I think people suggest $500,000 - as well as money to live on.
But even if you have this, the bigger problem is you will not be permanent residents and the visa that allows you do this would not give you a path to this, your children would have to leave once they reach 21 unless they can get their own visas.
