Additionally an undergrad course here is normally 4 yrs vs 3yrs in the UK.

And, in the US, grad school seems to be almost a prerequisite for getting a decent job these days.

That'll be another 2 years' fees, TYVM...

Just wondering, can the family apply for greencards from this visa?

Hi
Well lets hope she makes the 3yrs residency, she will be 17 when she starts High School for 2 years, then she might take a year out then go to Uni.... thanks for that info. You never know she might just come back to the UK to take her degree at a UK Uni... Kids = Money.....

Think you've misunderstood Elvira's post - she needs to be resident in the UK for 3 years previously, not the US!!

Thanks Jersey & Elvira, for spoiling my financial day.

There I was thinking, it will all be over soon.

Though you might be able to get out of that if you can prove it was only a temporary assignment abroad for instance such as a diplomat, armed services or job posting, so may be able to blag it on a L1, but anything else wouldn't be seen as a temporary work posting.

If you can afford the EB5 investment visa, why not go for that off the bat? E2 is a bit rubbish, plenty of threads show the short falls. It does get you to the US if nothing else is available though. I don't think anyone recommends it though if people have kids or getting on a bit with any vague thoughts of retiring in the US.
