Default Help bank question.

My ten year green card has gone awol and immigration have stamped my passport allowing me to work, I've been told it's quicker to get my citizenship than wait for my GC. Is there a bank out there that will let me have my own account I cant even have a joint one with my Husband at his daft bank at the moment I have my pay paid into a Chase account, I dont really like that idea.

You do not need a green card for a bank account. Period.

You should be able to open an account.. Take the American approach, when they deny you ask to speak to a superior and threaten to sue if necessary.. They'll open your account in no time!!

Just open a regular free checking account -- avoid savings for the moment. Persevere beyond the counter drone using sickly sweet insistence. I like Anabella's suggestion -- tell 'em that they are discriminating against you because of your national origin!

Often it's not the bank that is stopping you, it's the muppets that work in a particular branch that do.

As we found with my OH bank here even the manageress had her finger stuck in her arse My OH lost it that day with them and I had to drag him out of the bank When I find one that will take me on he then will close his account with said bank.
