health insurance- AGAIN!

health insurance- AGAIN!
Sorry to go on about health insurance again, but.....arriving in texas early Feb '06, health insurance doesn't kick in untill been in work 90 days. I know UK bought travel insurance won't cover us as we will be perm residents.
What is out there to cover us for the 90days other than crossing our fingers and hoping we will be ok?
