Wink Halloweenies!

Has anyone ever seen a ghost or felt haunted in a house? I'm a very open minded person and would'nt mind a visit from the great beyond. (cue patrick: You're weird)

I'm sure England has to have a few.

(Patrick... I'm not the one living in a Blonde Virginless town)

tis not really a haunting as such .... but my dear daddy died just about 3 years ago now and he still cant behave himself.
Back in the UK i'd finished doing my housework, closed the dining room door and gone into the kitchen to make coffee when i heard a bump, on the floor in the dining room was a bottle of whiskey standing up-right about 4 feet away from where it had been, it had "jumped" over the glasses leaving them untouched. I put it back and went through to the living room where my dads photo was now laying down on the mantel, I put him upright and asked him to behave !!
And now again hes up to his old tricks ... I recently found his photo once again laying down ........ the morning after Johnny Cash died. My friends think its freaky, I think its my daddy letting me know hes still around.

Nice to know hes still there ... in a way

Funny you should say that Bridgie ... my nana also has a habit of making herself known. Thankfully when I'm at my lowest ebb .. I can smell home baking (she was a wonderful cook), strange really as I dont really remember my nana she died when I was 3. She did however come to the rescue when mum started suffering post natal depression, she took me to the Isle of Wight while they 'sorted' mum out (a common thing in those days i'm told). Maybe its those comforting times that I subconciously remember *sigh*

When I used to work in Pompey dockyard, I once had to work in a building that was converted from a church into a store. As bridgie will not doubt have heard, the Dockyard is full of feral cats. These cats will come to you for food.

It was a January morning, no sunlight to speak of, and I was opening the store up accompanied by a few cats wanting to share anything I could throw at them. I looked inside the store and saw what appeared to be a shimmering white figure stood at the end of the building. I turned the lights on and this white fiure disappeared. The cats stood frozen to the spot, and no amount of food would entice them into the building.

Now I'm not saying I saw a ghost, but I definitely saw something I could not explain.

My grandfather used to move things around a lot, something would go missing and turn up in odd places three weeks later..

One of the oddest things to happen was when I was helping a mate move into a new flat in Edinburgh. We would take a bunch of stuff in from the van and the living room door would be shut even though it was open when we left, this happened every time. We even put stuff down to hold the door open, but the item would be moved to the side and the door closed when we got back. There was also no windows open and a very calm day outside.

There was also a large walk in cupboard that had previously been used as a bedroom, the room had a very sweet sickly smell emanating from it. As we were moving the last of the stuff in towards the end of the day a kid cycled up to us and said he used to live in the house and that "there were ghosts in the cupboard" Now this was the first time we had seen this kid or even talked to anyone else living there so the kid could not have known about the living room door incident.

My mate lasted about 2 weeks in the house before moving out, he said he heard a few things including a small girl crying and being talked to by what sounded like an old man.

Serious Goose Pimples in Hertfordshire right now!!!!!

I have a few incidents I could share but this one is the most interesting me finks!

I used to work with an old Jamaican lady, Deloras when I was only 18. We used to work on one of them old switchboards with plugs and cords - anyway, on the night shift the place would get very quiet and she'd tell me wonderful stories about back home. Well, she swore on her life what she was about to tell me was true and it was about 4 young women she knew back in Jamaica (she was good friends with one of their Mothers) - they had all set out one day to have their fortunes told by the islands most famous psychic - an old and mysterious soul with a renowned reputation. They were being typical excitable dizzy girls all eager to hear what the future held for them.
They arrived at the house and one by one they were ushered in by a servant to meet the old psychic lady. They paid their money, were observed, spoken to briefly and then the servant gave them an envelope to take with them which contained their fortune. The last girl went in and the psychic lady froze in her seat. Visably disturbed and refusing to look the girl in the eye, an envelope was handed to the girl and the psychic simply said 'Don't open this for one hour'. She was literally escorted out of the door. The girls all discussed what each had been told and were amused/excited and a little baffled by the visit as they clambered back into their car for the journey back. Shortly after they set off there was a terrible crash and the girls were thrown from the car. All survived except the last girl who sadly died at the scene. When everything was eventually recovered from the accident, the four envelopes were found revealing what the future held for each of them. They opened the last girls envelope and discovered that inside was a blank sheet of paper :scared: :scared: :scared:

eeeeps whatever !

Twice I have dealt with things psychic, firstly my friend persuaded me to have my Tarot read in Blackpool, she knew the lady was ok so I agreed. Well i dont remember much but it did say something about a blonde man and a dark haired man, one of them would betray me the other would be my soulmate. This made no sense to me at all. This was well before I found out that my husband at that time was running around with half the girls in the port so I had no idea what it was about, and the only blonde man in my life was my son.
Just this summer my friend visited and I commented about that reading, how my dark haired (now ex) husband betrayed me, and how I am living with my blonde haired new husband, who i didnt even kow existed at the time of the reading. hehe spooky !

The other time was a friend of my mothers, who took one look at my palm and said I didnt need her to read anything because I knew it all myself. Uhhh ?? was news to me then and still is now ?!?!

WOW hope she didn't charge you full price for that reading LOL
How fab about your Blond husband though! - Soz to hear that your first husband was such a stinker.
Maybe the psychic was saying you are psychic yourself!
I have had 2 readings, different psychics, several years apart - both times I accompanied a friend and got roped into getting one done too. Both times I was told I should be sitting in their seat as I had the sight but it needed 'tuning'. Both times I said no thanks I'm happy in my numb blinkered world, blissfully ignorant and the only thing I tune is the radio! That sort of thing scares me too much to want to get THAT involved.

However the 2nd one did tell me that I would have a life changing meeting outside a post office and couldn't tell if it had happened already or was going to happen. I had no idea what she was on about and thought no more of it. About 3 years later I kissed a very talk dark handsome man and instantly felt a change! It turns out the building we were infront of was a mail sorting office and we married 18 months later
Maybe it's just coincidence - but who knows?

She didnt charge me at all, although I did cross her palm with silver (10 pence piece if i remember rightly)

I never know if this psysic stuff is real or if it sometimes leads people to change their lives to suit what they have heard. Having said that it would seem that some predictions do come true. Who knows ??

As for me being psysic ... I dont know ... I have walked into situations where I have a very definate feeling of de ja vu (sp. ?) not earth changing situations usually mundane things, but I dont think its really foresight because the feeling just kind of grows, its not like I feel whats going to happen and that I could change the outcome of any one event. Strange but its that I've been here before feeling ... weird woman eh ?

*sigh* Jan

ohh and funny thing .. when my daughter was born my mums friend came over to visit .... put a silver coin in my daughters palm (as old ladies do) and said ... Oooo this ones been here before!! Great so now I have an all seeing daughter too

When I was 18 I worked in a Pub in the Village of Slaithwaite, Huddersfield called the Rose and Crown.

I actually lived right next to the pub, there was the pub, five houses, and not a lot else. The pub and our house where at the top of a hill, after which was fields and then the moors.

I used to work Tuesday evenings in the kitchen and finished at ten, when my friend who was in a band would pick me up after practice and we would decide whether to go join the rest of our mates down in the village pubs or just go back to mine for tea and gossip.

I left the pub as usual at ten and went out into the car park at the side of the pub and got into my friends car. It was a big open car park, spotlit and from any point you could get a good view of the whole thing.

As we sat in the car talking, it suddenly got freezing cold, then "someone" ran past our car. I say someone, but I did not see who it was, the shadow just moved quickly across the car and we heard the footsteps running on the gravel past us and behind the car.

My friend jumped out, ran around the car shouting, we had two possibilities in mind at this point, one of our mates messing around or some pervert hoping to see some action in the car.

There was no-one there. There was nowhere they could have hidden or run to in time. We were terrified. The car stayed freezing cold and we didn't dare get back out. We drove around to the front of the pub and sat under the lamp until closing when my sister and her friends drove up to drop her off.

When they saw us, they knew something was wrong and they got terrified too. We all walked together to my house and that night my reaction frightened my sister so much she slept in my bed. I was so scared by it all that when she fell asleep I went and got in bed with my Mum.

How embarrasing. I have never been able to explain it, I've always been sceptical about these things but I heard the footsteps, saw the shadow and felt the awful cold.
