Default Haggis

Anyone know where I can find some in the States, preferably local to Chicago? And, YES, I HAVE tried using search engines with varying degrees of success - most companies seem to sell something that is waaay too big (and expensive) for one person to eat.

I'm hoping NOT to have to order online although I guess I will if I have to. I'd be grateful if anyone could let me know of a store they found it in or whatever.

Many thanks.

Do you have a preference for beef based or lamb based haggis? I've never seen haggis in the shops (and apparently NC has a very large number of people descended from Scotland) but I do have details about a guy in Oregon who makes lamb haggis...

I miss haggis too!

I've only found it online apart from the Union Jack shop in MA. It was one hell of a mother haggis too.

I've just spoken to someone of Scottish descent who I work with; she assures me there is a little shop in Chicago that sells haggis but she's not sure what town it's in; however she is going to ask her Grandmother (who is Scottish) as she is the one that shops there.

I will let you know when/if she gets back to me.

Great, thanks. I had been told Bobek's would have it but no such luck.

Ever thought about making your own?

I used to know a guy that would make his own haggis. He would probably swear like a sailor if he found out about canned haggis

Lightbulb Re: Haggis

This is the site I was thinking of earlier. It's called Lamb, etc. and there's a link right at the bottom of the page for haggis.

The site sells other Scottish (and Irish) stuff.

Do you have any Welsh friends? They always know where to find the best looking sheep.
