H1B result!
Well we went to the interview at Grosvenor Square today (for interview read 2 1/2 hrs of waiting and 2 mins of questions) and the visas were approved! Plan to fly out to LA next Thursday.
Think the timings were pretty good. I was first approached by my new employers regarding the visa application on 30 June and just over 2 months later we have the visas. It can be done! On one of my first posts to the board all those weeks ago, someone said that I'd be lucky to be in the US for New Year's Eve. Well...
Now the fun begins.

I am a writer/producer of film trailers and also tv commercials for films. I have been working at an agency in London for 7 1/2 yrs doing this and now I'm heading to LA. The human resources person at my new employers was/is amazing and the lawyer she employed obviously knew his stuff. I can't quite believe it.
The removal men are coming tomorrow. Why am I sitting at the computer typing? There's stuff to do!
Best to everyone who is sorting out their visas...

Where will you be living? Have the new employers sprung for a hotel until you can find a flat?
(Oh and if you ever need a unit stills photographer please let me know!)

The medical coverage is sorted. Pregnant wife doing very well and excited to be having baby Stateside.
We have very good friends in Burbank who will be putting us up until we find a place (which we hope to do pretty quickly).
Getting ready to work harder than I've ever worked in my life...

... and after the interview on Tuesday, the visas arrive Saturday! Good work fellas.
For the last question, did lots of work on 28 Days Later, Calendar Girls, The Guru, Bend It Like Beckham and Unfaithful. Very pleased with 28 Days stuff as the film was big hit in UK.
It's going to be fun in LA though...
