Hello,

My application for H1 transfer from company A to company B was delivered to INS (VSC) last week. Can I quit my current job and take a vacation (within US) until I get my receipt notice from INS. Company B says that they will let me start only after I get the receipt notice from INS. I will really appreciate your help guys.

I have changed my job recently to new company through H1B transfer.

It took about 1 months to receive receipt from Vermont INS Center.

This is a bit of a grey area of the law, but I think it would be safe.
