Groupon Offer for Expats
Sorry if someone else has posted this, I will be honest I did not bother to take a look..
Got an offer from Groupon today that offers 50% off Irish food (we all know the majority of it is British)... So for $20 you get $40 and for $30 you get $60...
Enjoy.
Oh and do not forget to buy them for gifts for your children, uncles neighbours!!!

Re: Groupon Offer for Expats
I've ordered from these guys recently - I haven't had decent bacon for a year (since arriving in the US) and every mouthful was like a taste of home - a bacon butty with brown sauce - American bacon doesn't come close, and their version of it "Country Ham" - pfft - don't get me started.
If you're missing bacon - if you haven't found a decent "supplier" go to these guys...

I drive past a Fresh and Easy in Pacifica but I've never been in, I did know that it was a Tesco (of sorts) but now I'm definitely heading in next time I drive past. Might in fact have to come up with an excuse to go that way today.
Mmmm, thinking about real pork pies, sausages oooohhhhh.

Their version of Trader Joe's two buck chuck is worth a try...called Big Kahuna. They carry some good high end stuff. Beer selection normally a couple of bucks cheaper than anywhere else. Quick ready meals are reasonable if that's your gig. Their rewards card works like a credit card once you have enough points you use it to pay for your shop. Veggie selection is a tad sparse. If you dont like self check out then you won't enjoy shopping there. I'll drive the extra half mile to go there instead of Safeway any day.

Re: Groupon Offer for Expats
I signed up for Groupon a few weeks ago. Shortly after, they emailed me an e-coupon for $15 off my first Groupon purchase. Yesterday, went over to the Tommy Maloney site (after purchasing the $70 worth of food for $30 coupon and using my $15 discount) and basically got $70 worth of bacon, sausages, cheese and white pudding for $15 (+ shipping).
Very happy camper. Thanks for the heads up.

I just tried it, the prices did not look bad until they added shipping, more than doubled the cost. This was without any coupons.

Look at http://www.balsonbutchers.com they have a method to ship by UPS Ground over longer distances but their prices are higher than Moloney's. Also Balson's now are in a lot of Costco stores.

Ooh, now that's the best scoop I've heard all morning.

If you ever get into SF there is an Irish bakery that does a decent pork pie and sausage rolls.

It's the shipping that kills it if it has to go by air to reach you within 2 days. Just ordered using the coupon and the saving on the food almost covered the 2nd day air shipping. Wouldn't have ordered without the coupon.

yup already bought it. Not ordered yet but will this weekend. Their bacon (very yummy!) is sold at Jungle Jims in southern Ohio (which I always try and get to when I'm working down that way)
