Minority population increasing in state

WASHINGTON - America's growing diversity has reached nearly every
state.

The 2005 figures are from the Census Bureau's American Community
Survey, which is replacing the "long form" on the 10-year census.
Starting this year, the annual survey of about 3 million households
provides yearly data on communities of 65,000 or larger. By 2010, it
will provide annual multiyear averages for the smallest neighborhoods
covered by the 10-year census.
Among the findings:
_Hispanics increased their hold as the country's largest minority
group, at 14.5 percent of the population, compared with 12.8 percent
for blacks.
Hispanic is a term for people with ethnic backgrounds in Spanish-
speaking countries. Hispanics can be of any race, and most in the U.S.
are white. When demographers talk about the shrinking percentage of
white people in America, generally they are talking about whites who
are not Hispanic.
_Such whites are a minority in four states ? Hawaii, New Mexico,
California and Texas ? and the District of Columbia. The share of
white people fell below 60 percent in three other states ? Maryland,
Georgia and Nevada. Nationally, non-Hispanic whites make up about 67

immigrant populations. The new data show that immigrants will travel
beyond those states if there are jobs available.

I hope to live long enough to see social strife rip this country into
pieces. Perhaps then we can crowd these wonderful mestizoes into a special
state just for them.

That's somewhat redundent.
Anybody who is not on Advanced Herbivorous Methadone Treatment
in D.C. is considered a minority.
Anybody in Hawaii who doesn't own a geniune
Australian Inuit Igloo is a minority.
Anybody in California who does not have their primary residence
in Seattle is a minority.
Anybody in Texas who doesn't think New Mexico is a suburb of
Nevada is a Minority.

I almost never hear English spoken. This is in the apartment house I'm
temporarily living in, fast food places, the 7-11 store, the mall,
parks, everywhere. When you walk your dog here and another person
comes along walking a dog, you let them sniff each other, pet the other
person's dog after asking in some kind of sign language if it bites,
smile, and walk on with your dog. It gets kind of lonely sometimes.
Speaking Spanish doesn't help much anymore, because now everyone speaks
Armenian, Farsi, Tagalog, Hindi, Urdu, Vietnamese, Laotion, Korean,
Arabic, Central American Indian dialects, and more. Most apartments are
unafordable, whole catagories of jobs are taken, and it's hard to find
an apartment in this part of L.A. County that takes pets because the
Armenian immigrants don't like them and have bought up all the
apartment houses.
