Going out in your pyjamas?
I'm wondering whether this just might be what happens in my area of CA, but do you often see people shopping in their pyjamas ... is this some kind of new fashion statement, or is it that some people just cannot be bothered to get dressed on a daily basis?
I regularly see people wearing pyjamas, usually with fluffy slippers to match when out shopping ... not at the malls, just at the big grocery stores and WalMart. I also see women who are in the middle of a perm doing their shopping, and they don't seem in the least bit embarrassed by being out in public with a full set of curlers. On one occasion the woman was wearing pyjamas that actually had an abundance of old food stains on them ... yuk! In general these outfits really do look like they have been sleeping in them for several days ... I'm sure I never saw this in the UK and though I see it on a regular basis here it still surprises me that anyone could go shopping in their pyjamas! |

Re: Going out in your pyjamas?
If I have errands to do like get drugs from the drive through pharmacy/breakfast from Mc D's/pick up the wife from school then I am quite happy (in warmer months) to wear my 'lounge pants' (PJ's) and flip flops
i don't care what other people think, they can kiss my ASS! :D |
Re: Going out in your pyjamas?
Guilty :o I often pop out in my PJ's to the store, not with fluffy slippers! I will wear a t.shirt or sweater and flip flops, I would never in a million years have done it at home tho, my teenage daughter would wear hers all day if possible :o

Re: Going out in your pyjamas?
I've seen it a couple times, though more on the weekends....less in the winter though :D

Re: Going out in your pyjamas?
Yea I have seen it a lot and I also notice just how many medical workers walk around/ shopping etc in their scubs, most unhygienic!
I have also seen women in a casino wearing hair rollers, just popped out for a quick gamble with the rent money I suppose. |

Re: Going out in your pyjamas?
It's very common for the girls in the local middle and high schools to wear pyjamas at school.....usually teamed up with Ugg sheepskin slippers.
99% of the time when I drive my son to school in the mornings I'm wearing my pyjamas too.....we leave the house at about 7.15am and I have my breakfast and take a shower when I get home. The only exception is if I need to pop to 7-11 or the supermarket for some milk, then I will put on some jeans and cover up my pyjama top with a jacket. My friend in Melbourne, Australia says that many women also drive their kids to school whilst still wearing their nightwear......and seen more than a few of them standing next to their cars in their pink fluffy bedroom slippers when their car has overheated/broken down..... :D |

Re: Going out in your pyjamas?
I haven't seen anyone out around here in their PJs, but maybe I haven't been here long enough. Although I did see an old biddy with a full head of curlers in the local supermarket a few weeks back.
