Default Getting British TV in the US

Hello everyone! For months now I’ve been watching British TV shows on Hulu and I just can’t get into American TV at all. Does anyone have a source they use to watch British shows? The American version of The Chase doesn’t cut it for me 😂

thanks!

Joshua

I use a Roku hooked up to the TV and watch Britbox, UKTV and Acorn for most of my Brit fixes.

I love The Chase. Bradley totally cracks me up!

Yeah, Britbox is awesome and only $6.99/Mo. Acorn TV has a lot of older stuff IIRC, so I don't see the need for both.

On our last trip back, I managed to get tickets to a taping of the Chase Celebrity Edition. It had Rory McGrath, Peter Andre and two others I didn't know, but Bradley was a hoot! Mark was the chaser.

Side note, Britbox is available on Apple TV and Roku, but if you want to watch on Fire TV, you need to subscribe through Amazon, not directly.

I’m looking into a Roku stick to get Brit box! The Chase is the best, my whole family used to watch it together every night whilst eating dinner.. I’d usually jump up and down if they were close to beating them in the final Chase 😂 but Brad does make the show great! Never knew I’d miss British TV so much, me and my wife who is Nebraskan watch British programs more than American!

Great info, as much as I will be 'integrating' in a few months, I also yearn after some British shows.

Does Britbox have any UK kids TV? Nickelodeon just doesn't cut it for me.

Thanks

I use SmartDNS and all of my computers / ipads / devices "appear" to be in the UK such that watching BBC iPlayer or ITV is just like watching in the UK.

I rarely watch American shows and I'm an American. I like Netflix, acorn and britbox. I don't care for british comedies as I don't understand the humor but I do like other programs. Try Netflix and amazon prime for original shows made by both.

This is the way to go for trouble free watching just like you are in the UK. I even hook my device to my TV so watch in real screen size = normal TV screen.

I say again it beggars belief that the BBC and ITV mandarins cannot seem to see further than the end of their collective noses regarding this issue. One estimate I saw said over 60 million regularly watch some form of Brit TV abroad. Given that all of them are accessing through a 3rd party platform wouldn't it make far more sense for the UK TV' people to license their own products. I'd willing pay $100 + for the instant access.60million x $100 = 6 billion. I think that would solve the BBC money and license fee crisis overnight!!

But as usual it's all about power and control and we say you cannot blah blah blah............

Who do you guys recommend for Smart DNS? I tried Unblock-us through a PS4 which worked well for a while. Eventually it wouldn't really play iPlayer or MLB TV (like to watch the blacked out home games), although All4 worked better.

We use Eurobox get all the U.K. channels, it works out at $18 per week, we are very happy with the service plus you get 7 day rewind if you misssed your fav show.
