Gas/Petrol

Re: Gas/Petrol
If your owner's manual doesn't say to use premium, then there is no benefit to using it. Usually the cars that really need it have turbos, or spin way too much horsepower out of way too little engine displacement. Some people claim to get better performance by optionally using premium instead of regular, but that's just a 20 cent / gallon placebo IMHO.

Re: Gas/Petrol
we just hit $3.85 / galllon here... ouch... my vehicle gets 10mpg.
I'm not THAT bothered tho as I take bike/train to work... we do about 100miles/week on average.

Re: Gas/Petrol
unless your ragging the muts nuts out of your motor, and it's a proper sporty number, there's no point to premium petrol.

I've heard that using premium vs lower octane is actually less fuel efficient. True?

$2.92 for reg unl here (St. Louis, that is. It's still $3.05 or so at home) Still not cheap but better than $3.25 when you drive 100+ miles per day!
