Paella poorly done is horrible. I had one in St Louis that actually used long grain, instant rice...blecchhh!! When done well, like anything, it's great.

Each to their own though. Spend a few days eating in non-tourist trap, off the tourist map places and I think your opinion would change. Especially if you'd try the Basque Region...San Sebastian in particular.

and visit Bilbao and the Guggenheim Museum too!
