I went to Fort Myers on vacation once, I couldn't wait to leave. I'd go insane if I lived there. IMO (not a fact) it's the most mind numbingly boring place on the planet.

My grandparents lived in Naples, I thought it was pretty awful. But that's my opinion, not a fact. ;)

I agree fort myers isn't great....shame you didn't go a few miles south and over to Sanibel & Captiva islands...depends what you like doing...I like golf, fishing, jet skiing, motorbikes ..outdoor stuff...also great shops, cinema, excellent theatre and Arts in Naples, Miami only 1.5 hours away for if you want a party night...

Numerous times, they lived there so we visited often, up until my grandmother passed away about 8 years ago.

No point asking if I visited all the shops and beaches as that's exactly what I disliked about it, there didn't seem to be anything else to it!

These are my opinions based on my research / experience...if you don't agree that's ok with me but no need to get so up tight ....

You mentioned Fort Myers, in your earlier post. Apparently, that coast is the best :)

We visited Naples, it was full of old people, and was also ridiculously boring.

I'm really trying to understand what quotation marks imply in your posts, so just to help me could you please explain to me the different meaning in your post above, between retire and 'retire'?
