Firearm Lessons
I have been toying with the idea of having shooting lessons. As many people here hold and carry firearms I thought it would be a good idea to learn how to shoot and handle a gun.
Do shooting clubs rent out guns or do I have to buy one? I would rather rent than buy, I have no intention of having a gun in the house.
I just want to learn, mainly for the experience I suppose.

Re: Firearm Lessons
You can hire one at most gun clubs. Its a big responsibility to own a gun. I had to learn to handle one when my wife revealed she owned 4 and carried one on long trips. Shooting targets at a friends house in one of the fields was my introduction. I then took a course for proper training, cleaning etc. I'm taking my concealed carry later this year, then buying my own. A sub compact XD9 as my concealed weapon (my wife wanted the XD9 service model, but she has 4 guns already),I'm getting the new XD45ACP for pleasure shooting. We don't have children in the house. When my daughter visit from England we lock the guns in the safe.

I don't really understand why you think you should learn to shoot and handle a gun when you don't own any. The skills you'll acquire aren't much good if you're not going to handle firearms on a regular basis. i.e. practise.

9x9 ammo retails at about $10 per box of 50... expect maybe $6 per clip.
