Finally arrived in SF
Hello guys !
Finally we are here !
Arrived yesterday in SF and it is 4am in the morning now but I couldn't sleep anymore.
The Journey was pretty good however the food on the plane was awful . ( I wish I popped in to MS and bought some sandwiches) .Need to mention that the security checking did take far too long . In a way it is a good because we had to rush to our gate so I didn't have time to wobble....
Once we all settled in the airplane , all of sudden I couldn't control my tears anymore So I just cried and cried . In the end I m glad I get it out in a way and I keep telling myself it is ok to feel sad as it is absolutely normal.
We are just so happy we made it and looking forward to our new life. Many Thanks to everyone who have given us advice and support for the past few months. Even just sharing your own experience , it made me feel I Am not alone and it means a great deal for me and my family. ...thank you .
Ok, The plan for the second day is opening a bank account and buying a SIM card. Hope that will go well!

A country move is huge! It's completely normal (even for the most 'typical' Brit ) to cry one's eyes out....
Good luck with the next few weeks--they'll be a whirlwind!!!!

Yes your timing might be a bit strange for getting stuff done tomorrow! But glad to hear you've arrived safely. Good luck!

Glad you've arrived safely.
If you need any practical help with documents for banks etc give me a shout. And actually, I'd probably go to the bank today. They are open and completely empty! Everyone seems to think they're closed.

Lovely to hear!!! I didn't stop crying through security when we left and then started up again on the plane when talking to a stewardess!! (Slightly embarrassing)! You are not alone! 😂! We have been hear a couple of weeks now and whilst we aren't settled as we are in temp accommodation still, things have gone well and we feel settled in ourselves. On our first weekday were able to set up a bank account and go for our social security which came in the post last week. My only thing we weren't expecting cost wise was in NJ is seems to standard that if you are renting that the tenants pay the realtor's brokerage fee which is typically a months rent. That was an expensive shock to us so definitely worth checking out in your area. I hope you have a wonderful time and look forward to your updates.

Whereabouts is Atlantic Highlands? You lucky things! I nearly fell off my chair when we were told, seems so unfair as basically the landlord sign up to whatever deal they want with the realtor but the renter is the one left to deal with it! We are in Morristown area at the moment and across the whole area it seems to standard, heard some areas of PA do it too. Hopefully it won't affect the OP.
